Body discovered in Sumter County on Sunday afternoon; investigation underway
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies are joining the Sumter County coroner in the investigation of a body found on Sunday afternoon. According to a Sumter County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, the body was found sometime in the mid-afternoon off Highway 15 South near Clarendon County. Authorities said the body was found in a wooded area but didn't give the exact location due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Fireflies Holiday Lights is returning to Segra Park this winter. The Miracle on BullStreet kicks off November 15 and will run through January 4 at Segra Park. The Fireflies are launching a special Christmas in July gift for those in the Midlands to kick-off the 2024 Holiday Lights season. The week ahead: Brief respite from the swamp comes to a close
After a really nice Sunday that featured dewpoints dropping into the low 60s and no rain to speak of, we get one more day of lower humidity before we return to the swamp for the rest of the upcoming week. For Monday, though, enjoy lows around 70° yielding to highs around 90° in the afternoon with dewpoints generally in the mid-60s. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, but rain should just hold off to our west for one more day. (Can’t rule out some showers near I-95, though.)

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County School District provided resources to the unhoused and underserved community for the second year in a row. Hundreds of people came to the Charleston County School District Four Regional Stadium to grab free vaccinations, produce, backpacks and more.
