Thanks to NCAA rules changes, Shane Beamer announces new titles for South Carolina football staff
Earlier this summer, the NCAA eliminated the limits that had been in place for Division-1 coaching staffs. While there still will be just ten coaches who can go on the road recruiting, additional assistants can be included on coaching staffs, and those roles will not be just as "analysts" or "graduate assistants" anymore. On Thursday, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer revealed how this has affected the Gamecocks.
South Carolina DNR hosts free fishing clinic in Beaufort
BEAUFORT, S.C. — South Carolina Department of Natural Resources hosted the first of two free fishing clinics in Beaufort. Neighbors came to the Broad River Fishing Pier to learn a new hobby. The introductory class taught attendees how to tie fishing knots, how to rig a rod and reel, and how to cast a line.
10-man Battery fall 4-2 to Tampa Bay
The Charleston Battery fell 4-2 on the road against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday at Al Lang Stadium. Charleston were off to an early lead with goals from Juan David Torres and Graham Smith, but a late rally by the Rowdies, aided by the Battery being reduced to 10 men following Adam Grinwis’ red card, made the difference in the end. The result ended a six-match unbeaten run for the Battery.
RiverDogs walk-off Cannon Ballers in first game, split doubleheader
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jhon Diaz completed a furious comeback in the final inning for the Charleston RiverDogs with a walk-off single to right, as they beat the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 8-7 in game one of a doubleheader at Joseph P.
