GREEN BAY - Former Green Bay School District Superintendent Claude Tiller has a new job in Georgia.

Tiller will become the next superintendent of The Rise Schools in Georgia, the school district announced in an Aug. 19 Facebook post .

He was chosen from a nationwide superintendent search, the Georgia school district said.

“Under my leadership, we will continue to foster a balance between academics and the social and emotional well-being of all students, ensuring that our students are equipped to be the catalysts for positive change both in their lives and in the global society," Tiller said in the Facebook post.

The Rise Schools is a public charter school network in East Point, Georgia. It runs a grammar school for kindergarten through fifth grade and a prep school for sixth through eighth grade, according to Atlanta Daily World .

Tiller comes to the new school district after serving less than a year with the Green Bay School District. He was placed on administrative leave and ultimately resigned in February amid an investigation into comments he made on an Atlanta radio show . The Green Bay community showed large support for Tiller and called for his reinstatement during the investigation.

He was the first leader of color of Green Bay schools and came to Wisconsin from the Detroit Public Schools Community District.
