GREEN BAY — Students at John Dewey Academy of Learning in Green Bay will have a virtual learning day on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

In a post on its website, Green Bay Area Public School District said the air conditioning system at the school failed on Monday. This, coupled with expected hot temperatures, prompted the school to switch to an asynchronous learning day on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service , Tuesday's high will be near 89. Thunderstorms are also expected.

Advisers will provide students with guidance, the district's post said. It noted students may also have required Zoom sessions.

Students who need a laptop or a Wi-Fi hotspot should call the office Tuesday morning at 920-272-7074 to schedule a time to pick up the technology, the post says.

In its post, the district said a technician will examine the problem Tuesday morning. The district will be in contact regarding the rest of the week's schedule.

The John Dewey Academy of Learning is a charter school located at 701 Cherry St. that serves students in grades 6 through 12.
