LETTER: Elect Jim Rafter of Allouez to Wisconsin State Senate

I am not a Republican, but I will be voting for Jim Rafter for Wisconsin State Senate .

Jim is a kind and caring neighbor. He is a proven leader in our community. He is a loving father, a dedicated husband, and he cares about his family. He is an honest man, who believes in having conversations and hearing all sides of an issue to find a solution.

I have seen this side of Jim and find him to be a positive thinker, which we need in these divided times.

Send a letter to the editor on the election

Timely, well-written letters on the election are welcome. All letters are subject to editing. Some guidelines to keep in mind:

• Generally, we limit letters to 250 words.
• Name, street address and daytime phone are required. Only the author's name and city, town or village of residence will be published.
• We cannot acknowledge receipt of submissions.
• We don't publish poetry, anonymous or open letters.
• Election letters should be issue-oriented and not personal attacks on a candidate. We will not publish letters that criticize a candidate without endorsing another candidate(s). We will also not publish letters in poor taste. Accusations against a candidate must be verifiable in order to be published.
• Letters must be original compositions of the signed author and not part of a letter-writing campaign.
• We accept letters from individuals, not from a group of individuals.
• Letters from candidates, their immediate family members, campaign managers or elected officials will not be published. We want to hear from voters not directly involved in campaigns.
