Two earthquakes reported near North Carolina, Virginia border
SPARTA, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said two earthquakes hit the North Carolina and Virginia border Wednesday morning. According to the USGS, the first earthquake hit 4.9 miles east southeast of Sparta, North Carolina at 12:34 a.m. It had a magnitude of 2.2 and a depth of 4 kilometers.
VA Advised to Take Controversial Winter Dredge Crab Season off the Table Until 2026
Earlier this summer, Virginia fishery managers voted to repeal a 16-year ban on winter dredging for blue crabs, opening the door to possibly allow watermen to dredge the Bay bottom, scooping semi-dormant crabs from their winter slumber. Man on tricycle struck and killed in Highland Springs
A man riding a tricycle in Highland Springs just before 10 p.m. Aug. 27 was killed when he was struck by a pick-up truck, according to Henrico Police. Warren Wilson Davis II, 56, of Henrico, was riding the tricycle east on Nine Mile Road when he was struck by the truck, which was traveling the same direction, near the intersection of Nine Mile and Hart Street.
