Josh Jacobs Spoke Packers Reunion with Davante Adams

One of the big moves that the Green Bay Packers made during the 2024 NFL offseason was signing running back Josh Jacobs away from the Las Vegas Raiders. Upon inking his deal, Jacobs quickly got to work on recruiting, to see if his teammate, Davante Adams, would reunite with the team who drafted him.

At OTA’s last week when speaking to reporters, Josh Jacobs praised the young wide receivers that the Packers have on the roster. But, he did admit to testing the waters with Davante Adams, seeing if a move back to Green Bay would be in the cards.

“When I came out here … I sent him the little eyes emoji,” Jacobs told reporters. “I said, ‘You thinking about coming back?’ But man, he loved it.”

It is certainly interesting to think about what a potential reunion between Davante Adams and the Packers could look like. Wide receiver is far from the team’s most pressing needs, using premium draft capital to fill out the depth chart in recent seasons.

But, none of the young guys in the mix have emerged as the clear-cut No. 1 option in the passing game. If that doesn’t occur this season, Green Bay could benefit from bringing in a bonafide go-to receiver as the finishing touch to their passing offense.

Since joining the Raiders, things haven’t gone according to plan fo Davante Adams. He originally joined to reunite with his college quarterback Derek Carr, who was there for one season.

Quarterback uncertainty was a major reason he didn’t want to be in Green Bay. While that has proven to be a miscalculation on his part, as Jordan Love looks like a franchise quarterback guys will want to play with, Adams has no regrets about how things unfolded.

He spoke very highly of Love recently and now Josh Jacobs will get to experience that first hand. The Alabama product is the Packers’ new lead back with the team moving on from Aaron Jones after signing him.
