The Green Bay Packers are poised for success for years to come. Their not making two deals might have helped save the franchise from embarrassment.

The Green Bay Packers have been consistently one of the best franchises in the NFL over the past few decades. With two great quarterbacks back-to-back in Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have always been able to compete in the NFC.

Now, they are entering a new era with Jordan Love under center. Love is seeking to continue the trend of being a great quarterback for the franchise for the next decade and beyond. With a playoff win under his belt already in his first season as a starter, the future looks bright for this new era for the Packers.

With success overall as s franchise, a lot of credit has to go to the front office for deals they have made an passed on. Recently, A to Z Sports talked about two deals that the Packers didn’t make that turned out to be great. Here’s what they had to say.

In 2022, general manager Brian Gutekunst tried to execute two trades involving wide receivers, and both would have gone bad. Gladfully for the Packers, both deals didn’t happen, and the results ended up being much better.

The two players mentioned in the article were tight end Darren Waller and wide receiver Chase Claypool. Both had extremely disappointing 2023 seasons, as neither helped their team on the field and have become a bit of a distraction.

Sometimes in the NFL, the best move is no move or not forcing a move. In the case of the Packers, not having Waller or Claypool on the roster is a very good thing for the young franchise, as they both would have been distractions.

With a good foundation as a franchise, the Packers seemingly have always been able to avoid this type of issue when building a roster. Now, they will be hoping to continue their success.
