    Stingrays kick off summer season at Howard-Suamico pentathlon

    GREEN BAY — The M&M Stingrays swimming team dove into its summer season at the Howard-Suamico Pentathlon on May 31 and June 1 in Green Bay.

    Julika Mercer (13) took first place overall in the 13-14 age group after taking first or second place in all five of her swims.

    Mercer won the 50-yard butterfly in 30.61 seconds before capturing first place in the 100m Individual Medley, shaving 2.37 off her prior personal-best to finish with a time of 1:09.00.

    Mercer took second place in the 50 backstroke (32.26), 50 breaststroke (35.25) and the 50 freestyle (27.36).

    Tsvetelina Mercer (11) saw the biggest improvement by a Stingrays swimmer after trimming 4.93 seconds off her time in the 100 IM to take 23rd place in 1:35.03.

    Macy Bodam (12) captured a top-five finish in the 50 fly, finishing in fifth place with a time of 36.00 seconds.

    Audrey Worthan (10) made her Stingrays debut and notched a 33rd-place finish in the 50 freestyle (54.66).
