Analyst Predicts 10+ Wins for Green Bay Packers in 2024

Expectations are on the rise for the Green Bay Packers. After shocking everyone by making the playoffs and defeating the Dallas Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend, fans are excited to see what is next.

This is a team on the rise. Potentially with the youngest roster in the NFL for the second straight year, Green Bay is loaded with high-upside youth. That could lead to some bumps in the road at times, but this is a team that should make some noise in 2024.

General manager Brian Gutekunst was aggressive in upgrading the roster. There aren’t any glaring areas of need, but a few positions will be worth keeping an eye on for training camp battles.

Figuring things out at kicker is imperative. Incumbent Anders Carlson is looking to lock down the job after a shaky rookie season. Nothing is set in stone along the offensive line, where the Green Bay Packers have a ton of talent to sift through.

Despite those question marks, analysts are high on the team taking that next step. One of those analysts is Vic Tafur of The Athletic. He made predictions about over/under bets for season win totals in 2024 and he believes the Green Bay Packers are going to go over theirs.

“I think Jordan Love and the Packers overachieved a little last season, but I like what Green Bay did this offseason. Josh Jacobs will be a perfect fit, as he is a tough runner, and I also think Matt LaFleur will do a better job of using him in the passing game than the Raiders ever did. On defense, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and safety Javon Bullard are nice chess pieces — it’s rare when a team brings in four new safeties, but I like the four guys they brought in,” Tafur wrote.

Josh Jacobs has some big shoes to fill, replacing long-time starter Aaron Jones. While an argument could be made Jones remains the more productive back, especially in the passing game, the rationale at least makes some sense.

Jacobs is several years younger than Jones, giving the team someone closer to the timeline of the rest of the offense. If he can get near the level of production he had in 2022, the offense will reach new heights.

Defensively, the Green Bay Packers have a totally revamped last line of defense. Free agent signing Xavier McKinney highlights the overhauled safety depth chart, along with rookies Bullard, Evan Williams and Kitan Oladapo.

Edgerrin Cooper could be a starter from Day 1 alongside Quay Walker. Both exceptional athletes, the Green Bay Packers could have a dynamic duo to rely on for years at the second level of their defense.
