When does the 2024-25 school year start in the Green Bay area?

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story included an incorrect start date for the Unified School District of De Pere. The story has been updated.

As summer kicks off, some parents and students are already eyeing the first day of school. Even though most Wisconsin schools start after Labor Day, several Green Bay districts begin earlier than that.

Here's when students are expected back in the classroom in Green Bay.

Green Bay Area Public School District

• Full-day Head Start: Aug. 28
• Half-day Head Start: Sept. 4
• Kindergarten through eighth grades at Aldo Leopold Community School, Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners and Red Smith School: Aug. 26, in person
• 4K, Kindergarten through fifth, sixth and ninth grades: Aug. 26, in person
• Seventh, eighth, 10th, 11th and 12th grades: Aug. 26, asynchronous instruction

Howard-Suamico School District

• Kindergarten through sixth grades: Sept. 3
• Seventh and ninth grades: Sept. 3
• Eighth, 10th, 11th and 12th grades: Sept. 4
