Packers Could Trade Defensive Star Ahead of 2024 Season

As the Green Bay Packers get set for training camp, one of their defensive stars was recently named a player who could be moved.

With the Green Bay Packers getting ready for the start of the season, they are excited to pick up where they left off and build on a stellar 2023 season. As the team prepares for training camp, the current roster will likely look different before the start of the season.

Teams always make trades, sign, or cut players before the season starts, and the Packers are no different. Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about three players who could be traded before the start of the season.

Shockingly making their list was defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Here’s what they had to say about potentially dealing Clark.

Here’s the big one. This isn’t an argument that Kenny Clark should be traded. He’s still performing at a high level and he just set a career-high for sacks with 7.5 last season.

But if the Packers are looking to make a deal and want to bring back some draft capital, then Clark is a prime candidate. He’ll turn 29 years old during the season and he’s on the final year of his contract.

In order for the Packers to trade Clark before the season starts, they would likely have to be blown away by an offer. Clark is a big part of the defensive line for the team, but as an impending free agent after the season, anything could happen.

As we saw with Davante Adams, the Packers are not afraid to trade a big name and a key contributor if the price is right. It is yet to be seen whether Clark is going to re-sign with the Packers, but with the team being a contender to win the NFC, trading a top player on the defense seems extremely unlikely.
