GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers fans have more opportunities to see team practices during training camp than in recent years.

The Packers scheduled 16 public practices this preseason, starting at 10:30 a.m. Monday. That's more than in recent years, including one joint practice between Green Bay and the Baltimore Ravens.

Tourism bureau Discover Green Bay estimates training camp draws 80,000 fans from many states and up to 20 countries, with an estimated economic impact of more than than $9 million.

The Packers have only one home preseason game this season, the last game before the team begins the regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Here are more things to know about training camp, the public portion of which begins July 22 and ends Aug. 24 with the Ravens game:

Practices at Ray Nitschke practice field are free

Practices are at Ray Nitschke Field on Armed Forces Drive, east of the Don Hutson Center. Ray Nitschke Field has bleachers with a capacity of 1,500. Fans also gather in the north end zone, where portable bleachers are located, and some stand along the south end zone fence. Training camp, with the exception of Family Night, is free.

All practices, except for Family Night, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Times could change subject to weather or other factors. Practices also could be moved inside, depending on weather, in which case they will not be open to the public.

Parking in the Lambeau Field lots is free. The distance to Ray Nitschke Field is less than two football fields.

What is the weather forecast for first day of training camp?

The forecast for Monday, the first day of training camp practices, is for mostly sunny skies with a high of 83. Fans should dress accordingly and stay hydrated.

Umbrellas are not allowed in the stands, however, fans are allowed to bring coolers into the stands as long as they are small enough to fit under their feet.

Players will continue tradition of riding kids' bikes to practice

It is a long-running Packers tradition for players to ride kids' bicycles from the locker room entrance near the Oneida Nation gate to Ray Nitschke Field. Practices are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Youngsters are advised to arrive at Lambeau Field early, but there is no guarantee of being chosen. That's up to the players, who must be on the practice field and ready to go by the 10:30 start time.

Speaking of bikes, Bellin Health Bike Safety Rodeo returns

The annual Packers and Bellin Health Bike Rodeo, in conjunction with De Pere Police Department, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon on July 24 in the parking lot adjacent to Ray Nitschke Field. The free event features bike helmet fittings, a bike helmet giveaway and bike safety course designed to help children learn the rules of the board.

Family Night tickets and parking spoken for

Tickets for Family Night are nearly all distributed, and parking in the Lambeau Field lots is sold out. If you are attending Family Night and did not purchase parking passes at the time you bought tickets, your options will be street parking or parking in a Lambeau neighbors' yard.  No first-come, first-served parking will be available in Lambeau Field lots, except for cars with handicapped parking badges.

Fans with electronic parking passes and Android phones are asked to access the pass through the Ticketmaster app and not use the phone's electronic wallet. iPhone owners can use the wallet feature.

All services at Lambeau Field are cashless, including parking lots.

Family Fest returns to Titletown on day of Packers Family Night

The Packers once again will host Family Fest from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at Titletown, before the Family Night practice. Family Fest includes free games, entertainment and activities for kids and adults. Participants can take part in a dance party, giant games, a virtual reality experience and a game-face station, offering face painting, glitter hair and eye black. A variety of art activities and photo opportunities will be available. Fans also can participate in a Hail Mary pass challenge on the football field. Food and drink are available for purchase.

Training Camp Village includes family events, alumni autographs

The Bellin Health Training Camp Village, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon, July 27, in the parking lot next to Ray Nitschke Field, includes inflatables, a mini combine, games, prizes and a chance to win tickets to Family Night. Alumni autographs will be available.

Throughout training camp, displays and activities will be offered at Ray Nitschke Field and on the fan walkway at Lambeau Field.

There is more to do than attend training camp

Discover Green Bay will have a presence at Ray Nitschke Field to provide information to training camp visitors about other things to do in Green Bay and northeastern Wisconsin. Nick Meisner, vice president of digital marketing and communications for Discover Green Bay, said that because of the family-friendly nature of training camp, such events as farmers markets, Bay Beach Amusement Park and Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary are popular.

Also, the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture fly-in in Oshkosh begins the same day as training camp.

Lambeau Field will remain open through shareholders meeting

This year, the Lambeau Field Atrium will be open on the day of the shareholders meeting because the first training camp practice will be in the morning before the meeting. The atrium, Packers Pro Shop and Packers Hall of Fame will be open to the public all day, but the stadium bowl will not be open. That might affect stadium tours.
