The Packers kicked off their 2024 training camp on Monday, but star quarterback Jordan Love was notably absent.

General manager Brian Gutekunst told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Green Bay's second-year starter "will not practice" while he negotiates a contract extension with the franchise.

Love, the No. 26 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, led the Packers to the divisional round of the NFC playoffs in his first season as the team's starter.

He backed up Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his first two seasons and shined in the spotlight last year.

Love was 372-of-579 (64.2 percent) passing, for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Love's next contract is expected to rival Jared Goff's ($53 million per year) and Joe Burrow's ($55 million) contracts to make him one of the league's highest-paid quarterbacks.

Green Bay finished last season 9-8. Per ESPN Bet , the Packers (+200) have the second-best odds of winning the NFC North and their over-under win total is 9.5 games.

Love is tied with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (+1400) for the sixth-best odds of being named 2024 league MVP.
