Aaron Rodgers Reveals Bold Take On Packers, Bears For 2024

    By Ian Van Roy,

Aaron Rodgers has created a lot of headlines about his frustration with the Green Bay Packers over the years. However, now that the separation is complete, the New York Jets quarterback appears to be backing Jordan Love’s team with full force.

Speaking in an interview on “Pardon My Take,” Rodgers revealed doubts about the ceiling of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and a strong belief in his own successor in Love.

    Here’s how he put it.

“Yeah, I do [think he’s a good quarterback],” Rodgers said of Williams. “I like (D’Andre) Swift, I like Keenan (Allen), I like the receiver from Washington (Rome Odunze), he’s good. And then, of course, you still got DJ (Moore). I think that team is almost good enough to beat the Packers. Almost good enough.”

Of course, “almost” is not good enough in the NFL. Teams don’t get credit for partial wins for losing games. Williams has received a lot of hype, but still has to put pen to paper in the NFL. As such, between the two quarterbacks, Love has a larger sample size and he has already swept the Bears.

This means that, by default, many fans have backed him to sweep the Packers’ NFC North rivals again in 2024.

Rodgers, of course, legendarily declared he “owned” the Bears after a win in 2021, as mentioned by AtoZ Sports.

According to Statmuse, the future Hall-of-Famer has only lost to Chicago five times in his career with a 24-5 record. His most recent loss came in 2018.

Odds of Aaron Rodgers playing Bears shrink near zero

Rodgers didn’t have an opportunity to play against the franchise in 2023 due to tearing his Achilles just four plays into the season. The Jets also didn’t have the Bears on the schedule. With Chicago having not been on New York’s schedule and both teams being located in separate conferences, the only way they could have met was in the Super Bowl.

Once again in 2024, the Bears and Jets do not play in the regular season. It would take the new-look Bears and the new-look Jets to exceed expectations and reach the Super Bowl for a clash to occur. Of course, with the odds of that infinitesimally small, it appears that Rodgers may have played his last game against his vaunted foe.

Now on the wrong side of 40, every season can be the quarterback’s last.

Will Aaron Rodgers get to take on the Bears ever again?
