Insider Provides Update on Packers Jordan Love Contract Situation

As the Green Bay Packers continue with training camp, all eyes are on the contract situation of Jordan Love. Coming into camp, Love announced that he was going to be holding out, and while he isn’t on the field, he is around the facility.

Love being around is a good sign that things shouldn’t be too far off, but it has been a couple of days already and Love still doesn’t have a new contract. As a quarterback coming off a great season, Love is poised to cash-in with his new contract, as he might reset the market.

However, since he was only a starter for once season, the Packers likely want to make sure that they have an out sooner rather than later if Jordan Love becomes a one-hit wonder.

With likely hundreds of millions of dollars heading to Love, it makes sense that the deal is taking some time to come together. As we have seen in recent years, the Packers front office has done a very good job not only in terms of drafting and scouting players but also in managing contract negotiations.

Love is coming off a great season in 2023, as he was one of the best quarterbacks in the league in the second half of the season, and that likely resulted in him wanting to get a new deal done. Coming into 2024, Love is projected to be an MVP candidate, as he currently has the fifth-highest odds in the NFL.

For the Packers and Jordan Love, they would likely want to get a deal done as soon as possible, as a holdout going over a week would start to cause some concern and potential drama in Green Bay. With the team being a contender in the NFC, they likely want to avoid all potential distractions and have a great training camp.
