The Green Bay Packers officially announced a contract extension for quarterback Jordan Love on Saturday.

The agreement between Love and the Packers was reported Friday. On Saturday, Love officially signed the contract.

While details of the contract aren’t released by the team, Love’s extension has been reported at four years and $220 million, including an NFL record $75 million signing bonus. His contract averages $55 million per year, tying an NFL record.

General manager Brian Gutekunst expected Love to sign the deal Saturday morning. Coach Matt LaFleur said Love will be at practice and participating in full after missing the first four practices of training camp.

Adding four years onto his current deal will keep Love under contract with the Packers through the 2028 season.

The Packers drafted Love in the first round of the 2020 draft on April 23, 2020. Now 1,556 days later, Love is the highest paid player in football and locked in as the Packers franchise quarterback for years to come.
