Early in-person absentee voting beings July 30 in Brown County. Here's what you need to know.

GREEN BAY — In-person absentee voting for the fall partisan primary and special congressional primary election begins July 30.

The election will cover the offices of the U.S. president, U.S. Senate and U.S. House, in addition to the Wisconsin Senate for even-numbered districts, the Wisconsin Assembly, and partisan county seats. The Wisconsin Senate and Assembly races will follow the new electoral maps — signed into law by Gov. Tony Evers earlier this year.

Any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day and who has resided in the ward or municipality where they wish to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election qualifies to vote. The elector must be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot and proof of identification is required.

The deadline for voting by absentee ballot is Aug. 11, the Sunday before the election. The deadline to requenst to vote absentee by mail is 5 p.m. Aug. 8, the fifth day before the election. Office hours vary by municipality.
