Peter Bowden’s roster absence lasted only one week. On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers brought back the rookie long snapper out of Wisconsin.

Last Tuesday, the Packers released Bowden from the 90-man offseason roster to make room for quarterback Jacob Eason, who was necessary to sign while Jordan Love and the Packers negotiated a new contract and only Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt were available to practice.

Back in Green Bay, Bowden will resume his competition with Matt Orzech at long snapper.

Bowden went undrafted out of Wisconsin, but he was highly regarded in the draft process. Dane Brugler of The Athletic had Bowden — who participated at the Senior Bowl — rated as the No. 1 long snapper in the draft class.

Bowden was a three-year long snapper for the Badgers. He ended up being a semi-finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award — given the nation’s best long snapper — in 2022 and a finalist in 2023.

The Packers also signed rookie cornerback Don Callis on Tuesday. Packers Wire will update as more roster news is known.
