Luke Musgrave Has Interesting Set-Up For Sophomore Season

Luke Musgrave is coming off a nice rookie season of 34 receptions for 352 yards and 1 touchdown. Musgrave flashed his ability as a downfield option, breaking free down the seam for multiple long receptions, but was never a high-volume option for Green Bay. Had Musgrave not suffered an injury last season, there is a chance he would be higher up on the list, but fellow rookie Tucker Kraft performed well in Musgraves's absence, making this a tight end-by-committee situation.

Musgrave is more of the receiver, and Kraft is more of a blocker, but both will see plenty of action, which may cancel each other out. Outside of dealing with splitting the tight end room, the Packers have a lot of talent in wide receivers as well. Jayden Reed had a great rookie season, Christian Watson is a productive player whenever he is healthy, Romeo Doubs is a consistent, solid player, and Dontyvion Wicks has become a big-time sleeper to many after his solid rookie season.

Even out of the backfield, the Packers have Josh Jacobs, an above-average receiver. Musgrave will have his work cut out for him due to the abundance of young talent in Green Bay. Musgrave makes more sense for best ball formats than re-draft leagues because there is no need to worry about deciding to start or sit him every week in best ball.

Our consensus projections for Musgrave in the 2024 season are 48 receptions, 511 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
