2 New Jersey residents plead guilty to helping physician distribute opioids
Two residents in Paterson, N.J., admitted to conspiring with a physician to distribute opioids without a legitimate medical reason. Jasmine McGregor, 32, and Jhenelle Lewis, 35, pleaded guilty to conspiring with Lisa Ferraro, MD, to prescribe oxycodone to people who were not actually Dr. Ferraro’s patients and whom she never examined or questioned, according to a July 18 news release from the Justice Department.
Report: Nets acquire F Ziaire Williams, draft pick from Grizzlies
The Brooklyn Nets acquired forward Ziaire Williams and a second-round pick in the 2030 NBA Draft from the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. The Grizzlies received forward Mamadi Diakite and the draft rights to 31-year-old Serbian wing Nemanja Dangubic, the 54th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft. Diakite was dealt to the Nets on July 6 in the trade that sent forward Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — For the past few years, Elliot Cadeau has been an inspiration to countless young basketball players and fans. The point guard from West Orange, who is enjoying a stellar career for the University of North Carolina basketball team, has created his own AAU organization and has brought two European youth teams to the United States. The teams, named Team Cadeau, consist of players ages 15 to 18 from Sweden, Norway, Holland and Italy. They arrived July 8 and stayed in West Orange, before departing for Harrisburg, Pa., for two back-to-back tournaments July 10-12.

Former Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg has once again been released from jail, according to New York City corrections records.Weisselberg was sentenced April 10 to five months in New York City's Rikers Island jail complex, in line with a plea agreement reached with prosecutors over perjury he committed in a 2023 civil fraud case. He was released Friday, after 100 days, due to good behavior.
