With anticipation of Kolacky Days, a lot of work has gone into refurbishing the first fire bell for the city of Montgomery. Valleyfair's Fourth of July fireworks show rescheduled to Aug. 31
SHAKOPEE, Minn. — Valleyfair's Fourth of July fireworks show, which was canceled due to flooding, has been rescheduled for the end of summer.The Shakopee amusement park announced Tuesday the show will now take place Aug. 31 during the final weekend of Corn Fest. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.Flooding from the Minnesota River in late June caused Valleyfair to close its on-site parking and three rides. It also reduced entrance and exit capacity at the park.Corn Fest is the park's celebration of "Minnesota's favorite crop," organizers said. It features special corn concessions, live music, a corn eating contest and more. The festival runs Saturdays and Sundays, plus Labor Day, from Aug. 17 through Sept. 2. Corn Fest and fireworks are included in the park's admission fee. Corn Fest isn't the only major event on the calendar for Valleyfair. In January, the park will host Hockey Day Minnesota

Apparent murder-suicide in Minnetonka claims two lives
Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Minnetonka last week, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Minnetonka police have not released any statements about the incident, but medical examiner’s reports indicate Patricia A. Spitzmueller, 71, and Kenneth R. Spitzmueller, 76, both died from gunshot wounds in an apartment on the 12200 block of Minnetonka Boulevard on Thursday evening.

2 Texas men charged after stealing $217k from a Brooklyn Park ATM
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (FOX 9) - Two men from Texas were charged after they stole $217k from a Wells Fargo ATM in Brooklyn Park and led police on a high-speed pursuit. Ryan Rashad Powell, 18, was charged with simple robbery and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. While Zacoby OmarrIan Terrell, 19, was charged with simple robbery.

(KNSI) – The body found Sunday morning at Lions Park in Sauk Rapids has been identified. Just before 7:00, a woman called 911 saying a man was lying in the grass. Officers arrived and found the man who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Midwest Medical Examiners Office determined Monday the man’s name and age. The family of 34-year-old Devon Michael Majersky has been notified.
