6/21/24 Flood Watch Issued
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from 2 pm this afternoon through 7 pm Saturday evening. Counties included in the watch include Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Jefferson, Marquette, and Washington. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected beginning this afternoon and lasting into Saturday evening.

The Markesan Police Department has announced it has received a couple of black bear sighting reports recently. They say this is not abnormal this time of year as young bears often are seen roaming through parts of the state as they leave the area they were raised in to look for their own space.
