Whitmore Lake waterfront improvement project gets $2M from state
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - A waterfront improvement project on the western shore of Whitmore Lake got a $2 million appropriation from the state, Northfield Township announced. The waterfront amenities will include a boardwalk and fishing pier, sidewalk, kayak launch and ice fishing access, shoreline restoration including native aquatic plantings and a crosswalk to access parking and other recreational facilities at the 26-acre Northfield Community Park, according to conceptual plans from the township.

Michigan physician, staffers accused of illegal prescription, healthcare fraud
A physician with a St. Louis office and two employees have been accused of illegally prescribing controlled substances and healthcare fraud. From at least July 2016 to December 2021, David Parks, MD, and two employees conspired to prescribe controlled substances outside the usual course of practice to maximize their patient population, the Justice Department said in a July 8 news release.
