Hwy. 17 reopens after ‘traffic incident’ in Charleston County
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - A portion of Highway 17 was shut down for several hours while deputies were on the scene of a “traffic incident” in the Jacksonboro area. Charleston County deputies shut down Highway 17 past Parkers Ferry Road around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The roadway reopened just before 5:30 p.m.

Former North Charleston cop pleads guilty to Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Riot charges
WASHINGTON (WCSC) - A former North Charleston police officer pleaded guilty to charges related to his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol building. Thomas Edward Blackwood pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building and grounds and one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, according to court documents filed Tuesday.
