Train derailment in Fredericksburg, Virginia, police investigate
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Fredericksburg Police and Fire Department are investigating a train derailment. According to officials Saturday night just before 9 p.m., a freight train traveling along the 400 block of Cobblestone Drive derailed causing damage to structures in the area. Officials say at least five cars derailed and crashed into six garages at Cobblestone Square.

The Franklin County Fire Department was kept busy with multiple incidents, including two significant house fires and four other emergencies on July 19 and early July 20. The first major incident occurred at 4:10 PM on July 19, when Squad 41 was dispatched to a working house fire in the borough of Greencastle.
