Arizona Swimming & Diving Adds Assistant Coach Lauren Sullivan
TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Swimming & Diving head coach Ben Loorz on Wednesday proudly announced the hiring of Lauren Sullivan as an assistant coach for the Wildcats. Sullivan joins the program in Tucson following one season as an assistant coach at George Washington, where she helped lead the Revolutionaries to a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference championships on the men's and women's sides.

Arizona adds Philip Congleton and Nathaniel Gonzalez to coaching staff
TUCSON – Arizona Soccer has added Philip Congleton and Nathaniel Gonzalez as Assistant Coaches ahead of its 2024 season, as announced by Head Coach Becca Moros. Congleton joins the team from NJ/NY Gotham FC where he has served as Head of Sports Science since 2020. In his role there, Congleton was responsible for monitoring data and analytics to track players’ physical performance. He created team and individual plans to assist with training, injury prevention, rehabilitation and load.

Queen Creek Councilmember Dawn Oliphant was recently appointed by Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs to serve as a representative on the Arizona Municipal Tax Code Commission. The Municipal Tax Code Commission consists of nine mayors and council members of cities or towns that have adopted the Model City Tax Code. Of these individuals, five are appointed by the governor.

Oro Valley golf course worker dies after bees attack him
A Pusch Ridge Golf Course worker has died from injuries sustained June 24, when he was attacked by a swarm of bees on the Oro Valley course. Rick Messina, 57, was an Indigo Sports associate who had worked for two years on the agronomy team at El Conquistador Golf Management. Indigo Sports, acquired by Troon in 2021, contracts with the Town of Oro Valley to manage El Conquistador Golf.
