    Local Students Receive Recognition from the Daughters of the American Revolution

    GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Two Greenbrier County high school seniors recently received recognition from the General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for their demonstrated leadership ability, military discipline and understanding of the importance of Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC).

    Josephine Bennett of Greenbrier East High School and Austin Baker of Greenbrier West High School were the recipients and are graduating seniors. The criteria for winning this award required they be in academic good standing and have shown qualities of dependability and good character. Included with the certificate was a monetary award.

    Regent Suzanne Cronquist announced the award to Bennett and the award was presented by Mike Vincent, Senior Counselor at Greenbrier East.

    The award to Baker was announced and presented by Ruth Sturgill, Chair of the Awards Committee, General Andrew Lewis Chapter.
