LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – If you are planning to travel abroad and need assistance with your passport application, the Greenbrier County Public Library is here to help. The library offers passport application assistance by appointment. Call 304-647-7568 to make an appointment and obtain a list of the documents you will need to bring with you.

Before your appointment, you will need to fill out an application form in black ink. The form is available at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/forms.html and in paper form at the library.

You also will need to bring at least two checks per application, one for $35 made out to Greenbrier County Public Library to cover processing and postage. The other will be payable to the US Department of State. To determine the amount of the fee, refer to the website listed above. We recommend checks not be completed until an agent has reviewed the application. There is also a charge of 25 cents per copy for photocopies made at the library.

Processing times are subject to change. At this time, you may receive a regular passport within 6-8 weeks. Expedited passports (which incur a higher fee) may be received within 2-3 weeks.

If you are applying for passports for minors, both parents must be present unless there are special family circumstances, which require a separate form. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you will need to reschedule.
