GREENBRIER COUNTY , WV (LOOTPRESS) – After an extensive search, The United Way of Greenbrier Valley has discovered a valuable asset close to home.

Following a successful 2023 campaign, the executive committee and board of directors have chosen Lauren Rainier, a seasoned nonprofit executive, as the new executive director to lead the organization forward.

Rainier, who founded and has been serving as the executive director of Sunday’s Child Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aiding at-risk youth in the Hawaiian Islands since 2007, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Before establishing Sunday’s Child Foundation, Rainier held a Director position at IMG Worldwide, the world’s largest sports marketing and management company. Rainier expresses her enthusiasm for community support programs and assisting children of all ages, citing her background in media, film, television, and sponsorship sales for professional athletes and celebrities. She recounts her early career as a news producer for major networks in the Los Angeles and San Diego markets, as well as a two-decade tenure in the film and television industry in Los Angeles.

The United Way of Greenbrier Valley Board Chair, Sharon Rowe, welcomes Rainier to the team, praising her impressive track record and dedication to the local community she now calls home. Established in 1986, The United Way of Greenbrier Valley is dedicated to implementing effective strategies that positively impact residents of Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Valley in the areas of health, education, and basic needs.

Through grants and private contributions, the organization supports local entities serving these counties.

Since 2022, Lauren and her daughter, Katerina, have been residents of Greenbrier County.
