SCARBOROUGH, Maine — The gates of the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough swung open again for the first time since 2021 for Short Track Racing Appreciation Day. 79-year old woman injured after putting gasoline on brush fire
WINSLOW- -A woman from Winslow had to be airlifted to a hospital after using gasoline to burn a brush pile. The Morning Sentinel reports the woman was in the backyard of a home on Benton Avenue Saturday when the accident happened. Officials say the woman received burns over 40-percent of her body. She was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland where she's listed in critical condition. The State Fire Marshal's office is now investigating. Authorities are urging members of the public to never use gasoline or other flammable substances to start brush fires.
