    State Liners, Flyboys each score ten runs in Saturday wins

    (WJHL) – It was a double-digit scoring night for the local victors in the Appalachian League on Saturday evening.

    Hilltopper alums Diamond and Torbett team up on River Riders

    A strong middle-innings effort from the State Liners lifted them past the homestanding Axmen, 10-4.

    Seven of Bristol’s nine hitters registered an RBI in the victory. Mikah Conner and Hayden Blair each led the way with a pair of runs batted in. Riley Orr managed to drive in a pair for Kingsport in defeat, as well.

    The Axmen were just 2-of-14 with runners in scoring position.

    In Greeneville, the Flyboys scored eight runs in a flash at Pioneer Park, putting down the River Riders, 10-1.

    Max Knight was 2-for-4 at the dish for the home squad with three RBI and a walk. Brodie Johnston also drove in a pair of runs.

    The four Greeneville pitchers combined to allow just one run on four hits Saturday night, striking out a total of eleven batters. Tyler Jackson was officially credited with the win, pitching 3.0 innings of relief.
