    Tusculum's Biggins, Mitchell Get Promotions

    Jenna Biggins has been promoted to the position of assistant athletic director for internal operations at Tusculum University announced Josh Ealy, Vice President of Athletics.

    Biggins is responsible for the day-to-day, internal operations of the athletic department, which includes management and supervision of all budget activity for the University’s 23 intercollegiate sports including team travel, supplies and recruiting expenditures. She will also continue to assist with NCAA compliance, NIL coordination and serve as the department’s ticket manager.

    She has been a member of the athletic senior leadership team since 2019 and previously coordinated the department’s student-athlete development efforts.

    In 2022, Biggins was the recipient of the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC) Rising Star Award which recognizes young compliance professionals who are emerging leaders within the profession.

    The Alpharetta, Georgia native lettered four seasons on the Tusculum softball team from 2014-2017 where she played in 127 games while posting a career .249 batting average which included 71 hits, 17 doubles, one triple and eight home runs. She finished with 44 career RBI and scored 28 runs. In 2016, she was named to the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 3 first team. She was a member of the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Tusculum Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the Dean’s List.

    She earned her undergraduate degree from Tusculum in 2017 while majoring in sport management. She earned her master’s degree in business administration at Tusculum in 2018.

    She is a member of the National Association for Athletics and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

    Tusculum has also promoted Scott Mitchell to the post of Director of Game Day Operations and Athletic Facilities.

    Mitchell joined Tusculum in July 2023 as the department’s Athletic Administrative Assistant for Game Day Operations.

    In this new supervisory role, the Chapel Hill, North Carolina, native will continue to assist with administrative leadership and support for internal operations of the TU athletic department which includes athletic training, summer camps, marketing, facilities and budgets. He facilitates all game day operations and staffing for all Tusculum home athletic events.

    Mitchell is a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

    Mitchell graduated from Western Carolina in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications with concentrations in journalism and broadcasting. Mitchell was a member of the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List.
