SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP) – A Greenfield woman was arrested Tuesday for her alleged involvement in an incident last year where three people attempted to steal a vehicle in South Windsor.

Agawam man allegedly stole vehicle after rear-end crash in Connecticut

According to South Windsor Police, 24-year-old Yanassis A. Ruiz of Greenfield was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle and failure to appear in the 2nd degree.

In April of 2023, it is alleged that three people, including Ruiz, were in a vehicle that intentionally rear ended a woman’s car on Route 5 in South Windsor. When the driver got out of her vehicle to check on the damage, one of the suspects jumped into her car and drove off. The vehicle was found one month later in West Hartford.

Ruiz was extradited from Massachusetts and will be held on a $25,000 surety bond before appearing in court Wednesday morning.
