GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Greenfield Board of Assessors is conducting a revaluation of personal property at local businesses.

Business owners will be contacted to schedule an appointment for their personal property to be assessed including inventory, furniture and fixtures, equipment, and machinery used. The process is to ensure all taxable personal property items are accurately listed.

Per Massachusetts law, revaluations must be conducted every five years. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the process. According to the Greenfield Mayor’s Office, if a property is not inspected, the estimate may result in a less reliable appraisal.

Real Estate Research Consultants, Inc, known as RRC was selected to assist in the revaluations.
