    MO Department of Conservation offers two day catfishing program

    MISSOURI (KOAM) -- The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting a program for people interesting in learning new catfishing techniques.

    According to MDC, the program is called "Alternative Methods Catfishing Clinic" that will kick off August 15 through August 16.

    • 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 15 at the Greenfield High School Agriculture Classroom .
      • Topics include: catfish biology and characteristics, regulations, equipment needed for alternative methods, techniques and strategies, types of baits, regulations, and water safety.
    • 10 a.m. - Noon on Friday, August 16 at the Greenfield High School Agriculture Classroom .
      • Catfish cleaning demonstration, Fish Fry.
      • Both segments will be taught by MDC Conservation Educator Lyle Whittaker.

    MDC says attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks, water, and a sack dinner for August 15, which is for ages 11 and up.
