Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church will host its annual rummage sale Aug. 2-4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the La Salle Academy Gym, 309 First Ave., Jessup. Items for the sale will be accepted any Wednesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the gym until July 27. Holy Ghost Parish welcomes new priest
The parish family of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup, recently welcomed Father Timothy and Pani Angela Kennedy to their church. Originally from New Jersey, Father Tim recently completed his studies at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh. He holds a Master's in Theology with a concentration in ministerial leadership. He graduated with honors and was ordained by Bishop Kurt Burnette into the priesthood on May 25, 2024. Father Tim was a deacon for 13 years, serving parishes in New Jersey and Florida.
United Way of Greater Hazleton to provide free backpacks, school supplies to local students

Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure in Mahanoy City
A man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for an indecent exposure incident in Mahanoy City. According to court papers, David Roberts, 64, with a registered address of Jacksonville, FL, was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, and disorderly conduct by Mahanoy City Police Officer Hugh Clinton following an incident on July 14th, 2024.

DCED invests in training Pennsylvanians with disabilities
Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Dept. of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced a new $200,000 investment into the Community Integrated Services Manufacturing Accelerator Program, which trains Pennsylvanians with disabilities to work with local manufacturers. The Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career grant will fund program locations at Drexel University and the Community College of Philadelphia.
