One dead in car vs dump truck crash on HWY 21 in Monroe County

TOWN OF GREENFIELD, Wis. (WKBT) -- One is dead in a crash on Highway 21 Tuesday.

Just before 3:30 p.m., an eastbound car crossed the centerline of the highway, striking a west bound dump truck near Flagpole Road in the Town of Greenfield, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The crash caused the dump truck to catch fire and shut down Highway 21 for 7 hours. The driver of the car was killed. The dump truck driver was not injured.

Names have not been released. The crash is under investigation by Monroe County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
