SHARPSBURG, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Georgia mom is using her son’s story to encourage parents to stay hopeful. Kholson Smith was born with severe heart defects. He’s had three open heart surgeries and countless other procedures. His last surgery was when he was almost four years old. Today, Kholson is eight. He golfs, skateboards, and runs — a life doctors were unsure he would ever get.
