ATLANTA - Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian would have celebrated his 100th birthday on July 31. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 95 in Atlanta. Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian (Cordy Tindell Vivian), born on July 30, 1924, in Boonville, Missouri, was a renowned civil rights leader and close associate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He grew up in Illinois and attended Western Illinois University, where he was involved in his first non-violent direct action, a lunch counter sit-in in Peoria, Illinois, in 1947.
Autopsy released for Atlanta mom found dead inside car 2 years after teen son shot to death
ATLANTA — The cause of death has been released for an Atlanta mother whose body was found inside a car more than a week ago. Chanell Crosby, 35, was found dead inside the back of a vehicle around 2 p.m. on July 19 in the area of the West End MARTA station, police said. The discovery of her body came a day after her family filed a missing persons report with Atlanta Police on July 18. Her family said she was last seen on July 14.
