NOAA seeks advisory council for proposed marine sanctuary in Pa. portion of Lake Erie
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is seeking people to give advice about a proposed national marine sanctuary in Lake Erie adjacent to Erie County. The council would include representatives from various user groups, such as fishing, diving, economic development, education, maritime heritage and the public at large. Known as a pre-designation Sanctuary Advisory Council, it would provide recommendations to NOAA on the proposed designation and operation of the Lake Erie National Marine Sanctuary. Council members would also act as liaisons to their communities, according to NOAA.

WVU southpaw Derek Clark drafted in ninth round by Los Angeles Angels
The Los Angeles Angeles selected former West Virginia University pitcher Derek Clark with the No. 262 overall selection in the ninth round of the 2024 MLB Draft. Clark went 8-3 on the mound with a 3.23 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 97.2 innings pitched in his lone season with WVU. He tossed four complete games this season, which was the second-highest total in the country. The Petersburg, Michigan, native saved some of his best pitching for the postseason as he was named the Tucson Regional Most Outstanding Player.

New electric vehicle fee coming to Pennsylvania
