Dixie Girls District 6 tournaments began in Greenville June 13, with the Angels, Darlings, and Ponytails competing for the championship. The 12U Ponytails emerged victorious in their opening game against Crenshaw County, securing a decisive 16-1 win.

Crenshaw County Coach Bo Bowlan acknowledged his team’s struggle, noting that they allowed too many errors against great opponents.

“They (Greenville) just hit really well and made their defensive plays,” said Bowlan. “They played a phenomenal game.”

At press time, the Greenville Ponytails were set to play for the championship against Geneva on June 17, while the Angels will vie for their own spot in the championship.
