Nashville-based arena rock band Arrival will make their debut in Greenville in August, with an electrifying performance at The Ritz Theatre on Aug. 3, at 7 p.m.

Originally scheduled for June 8, the performance was postponed due to a leak at the theater. The rescheduled date promises the same high-energy concert experience fans enjoy, with iconic 80s rock anthems from bands like Journey, Styx, Night Ranger, Toto, and Foreigner. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children under twelve.

Paul Herring, the group’s drummer and vocalist expressed his excitement about the rescheduled performance.

“I’m thrilled we could make this work,” Herring said. “The Ritz is special to me. I grew up going to movies there so this is like coming home.”

Herring, a Georgiana native and Fort Dale Academy graduate, noted that playing at the Ritz is a personal homecoming.

“We played at the Georgiana Opry a few years ago, and I was in a country band that used to play at the Hank Williams festival,” Herring recalled.

Arrival has been performing together for three years. Initially a Journey tribute band, a performance in Savannah, Georgia, inspired the members to expand their repertoire.

“We were out on Tybee Island playing, and it was packed,” Herring said. “It was like everyone was transported back in time. It was so nostalgic, and we wanted to give the crowd that ‘back in time’ experience. We aim to recreate the full concert experience in a family-friendly environment.”

Jeff Randolph, Arrival’s bass player and a lifelong resident of Nashville, began his musical journey at age nine and toured with a gospel quartet at 15.

“Growing up in a very musical family, it just seemed like the natural path to take,” Randolph said. “I enjoy all types of music, and I’ve played a little bit of everything.”

Randolph highlighted the band’s excitement for their upcoming performance.

“We’ve played in Alabama a few times and in Georgiana but not in Greenville until now,” Randolph said. “We’re really looking forward to it.”

Randolph said that from the pictures he’s seen of the Art Deco-style theater, he is excited for the opportunity to play there.

“I love that it’s a more intimate venue,” Randolph said. “There’s always a lot more crowd interaction that way. We’ve played in large venues and you just don’t feel the same connection.”

Randolph also noted that theater venues allow a chance for meet and greets after the show, allowing for even more personal connections to be made.

“Anyone who comes out to the show is guaranteed to have a good time. It’s just great music—music that stands the test of time.”

Tickets for Arrival’s performance at The Ritz Theater can be purchased at Eventbrite.
