Joseph Longmire is a dedicated father and husband nominated for The Greenville Advocate’s Honoring Fathers Sweepstake by his wife, Eleyce Longmire. Joseph, a Greenville native, serves as the Operations Manager and a Loan Officer at Community Neighbors Bank, where he has worked for the last five years. The Longmire’s have two daughters, four-year-old Yari and nine-month-old Iris.

“I could say a lot,” Eleyce said. “He’s just a wonderful example of a husband and father. He places his family first and shows us his love in the way he treats us and provides for us.”

In addition to his roles at the bank, Joseph runs a photography business and is an active member of the Rotary Club. Despite his busy schedule, Joseph prioritizes quality time with his family.

“He’s just very attentive,” Eleyce said. “He takes care of us before himself and he tries to make sure to give the girls experiences he never had as a child. He always tries to be a Godly parent and instill biblical principles.”

Eleyce describes Joseph as a “total girl dad,” engaging in tea parties, playing with dolls, and enjoying outdoor activities with Yari and Iris. The couple attends LifeWay Ministries church, where their faith plays a crucial role in their lives.

“When I fell in love with my wife, everything just worked out, and we were blessed with two daughters,” Joseph said. “Being a father, you start to see the world through a different lens. You want to take your child and keep them from any hurt, but since you can’t do that, you focus more on guiding them through it… to rely on God.

“As the spiritual head of my home, it’s my job to provide for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. That’s a big part of being a christian father.”

Joseph acknowledges the inevitability of life’s challenges but hopes to be a stabilizing force for his children.

“There are things that we can’t stop, but it’s my job to help them navigate through those things,” Joseph added.

Despite his demanding career and extracurricular commitments, Joseph ensures that family time is a priority.

“We do a lot of stuff together,” Joseph said. “We go for walks. We’ll go to the park or just walk around downtown. We take mini trips together and have daddy/daughter days where we go to an event in the community or out to lunch.”

Joseph said he cherishes the moments spent with his daughters.

“My favorite thing about being a father is just them,” Joseph said. “They make all the difference. I really appreciate having the time to just enjoy the little things and life’s real moments. The things you can’t catch on a camera, but that mean so much.”
