Linda Harrison

Linda Harrison, 78, of Greenville passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Herbert Brown officiating. The family greeted friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Graveside Services followed at Sunrise Cemetery.

Linda was born March 4, 1946 in Greenville to Oliver and Mattie Odom. She was one of five children and the only girl.

Linda was preceded in death by parents Oliver and Mattie Odom, four brothers Ollie Ray Odom, Jim Odom, LeeWayne Odom and Johnny Odom and one son Jeff Brogden.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Harrison; daughter, Toni Johnson (Tony); sons, Shane Harrison (Tiffany) and Ken Brogden (Melissa); grandsons, Cory Boots Johnson (Natalie) and Kevin Brogden (Hannah); granddaughters, Hannah Thompson (Tristan) and Ashley Salter (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Hayes and Reece Johnson and Kaden and Kam Brogden.

Linda married her loving husband on Oct. 23, 1993 and they were married for 30 wonderful years. She and Dale loved to go on adventures and spend time together.

Linda was known for her kindness, her contagious laugh, her beautiful smile and her generous heart. No matter the situation, she was always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile on her face. Linda was very involved at Southside Baptist Church, whether it was assisting at Vacation Bible School or serving at Wednesday night dinners, she was happy to be there.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She supported her family in everything they did. From going on roadtrips to another state to watch a ballgame, attending plays, or tagging along on simple shopping trips. Linda always made her family feel special by surprising them with her delicious cooking. She had a special treat for each of them.

Linda enjoyed going to Gant Lake or the Alabama River and relaxing on the pier, fishing with her cane poles, taking a ride on the pontoon boat, or talking with her friends.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
