Company That Owns Illinois Pizza Huts Files for Bankruptcy
The struggle continues for many food franchises as a company that owns many Pizza Hut locations in Illinois has reportedly filed for bankruptcy. Nation's Restaurant News reported today that EYM Pizza L.P. has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the eastern district of Texas Monday. They said this pizza company "operates units in the South and Midwest". According to their corporate site, that includes Pizza Hut locations in Illinois.

Illegal immigrants can keep professional licenses despite deportation with new law
(The Center Square) – Migrants who get deported from the country may be able to keep their professional license from Illinois under a new law. Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the measure into law last week. House Bill 5457 provides that the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation may not revoke, suspend, or take any other disciplinary or non-disciplinary action against a license or permit issued under the law based solely upon an immigration violation. ...
Kaskaskia College gets analysis of school’s enrollment
During its meeting on Monday night, the Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees learned about the results of an analysis of the school’s program enrollment. Julie Obermark, KC’s Vice President of instructional services, walked the board through the program review process, which covered the period from fall 2022 through spring 2024. Obermark says the review examines program cost, quality and need. She reported that overall enrollment trended upward during the analyzed time period, with the nursing and early childhood academic programs among the big gainers in terms of headcount and credit hours.

Man gets 25 years in prison for shoving girlfriend off 7th-floor balcony at St. Louis hotel
ST. LOUIS — An Illinois man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to shoving his girlfriend off of a hotel balcony and leaving her in an alley back in 2021. According to charging documents, EMS workers found the woman naked in an alley in the 1500 block of South Theresa Avenue on June 30, 2021. The EMS workers said she was unable to move and was incoherent. She was hospitalized with a broken neck, a crushed spine and multiple injuries to internal organs but survived the fall.
