A murder warrant was issued for Woods in connection with the June 6 death of Latia Wilson in the 200 block of Utah Street in Greenville, Mississippi.

Woods was taken into custody in Memphis on July 1 and is currently being held there pending extradition back to Washington County.

“We’d like to thank our partnership with the U.S. Marshals in their apprehension of this suspect,” Greenville Police Chief Marcus Turner said. “Soon, Tyredius Woods will have his day in court to answer the call to justice in the slaying of Latia Wilson.”
