    SportsWeek: Deadline this week for Greenie League baseball

    Greenie League Baseball, the recreational baseball league co-sponsored by Greenville Recreation & Parks Department and Greenville Little Leagues, is now open for registration.

    Greenie League Baseball involves instruction and recreational competition for boys and girls in a fun atmosphere with a positive environment based on mutual respect and good sportsmanship. Registration is open for males and females.

    Small Fry is for ages 5-6 and Big Fry for ages 7-8 (as of Aug. 31, 2024). Games and practices will be at Boyd Lee Park, First Christian Church and Evens Park. The deadline to register is Monday.

    Pickleball

    Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is offering indoor beginner and intermediate pickleball clinics, as well as open play opportunities.

    These programs will focus on learning skills, rules and strategies of the game. All programs will meet at Sports Connection. For more information, please call the Athletic Office at 252-329-4550 or visit greenvillenc.gov.

    Softball

    The Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is now making preparations for the upcoming Spring Adult Softball League.

    Team registration is being accepted for Open and Coed leagues. Each team will participate in a preseason tournament, 10 regular season games and a double-elimination postseason tournament. Games will be played Monday through Thursday at H. Boyd Lee Park.
