    Cookie decorating

    The Belhaven Public Library, 333 Main St., will host a cookie decorating class at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The library asks participants be over the age of 4. The event is free but registration is required due to the limited number of slots. To register call the library at 943-2993.

    PITTCycle Fridays

    Items that have been discarded at the Pitt County Transfer Station but can be upcycled into usable items are posted to facebook.com/PittCountySWR each Friday. Once posted, residents can claim items by commenting on the post using a “first claimed, first reserved” system, similar to Facebook Marketplace. Once reserved, the first claim holder must pick up the item at the Transfer Station by 4 p.m. on the following Thursday. Items not picked up will be re-posted at a later time.     Food pantry

    Word of Truth Anointed Ministries, a partner agency of Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, operates Shepherd’s Food Pantry from 1-6 p.m. every Friday. Free food including fresh vegetables and meats will be given away. The pantry is located at 7227 Stantonsburg Road, Farmville.     Ladies conference

    Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440 Piney Grove Road, Angier, will host a two-session ladies’ conference featuring speaker Candy Pfeifer and special musical guest Mary Jane Carter. Pfeifer is the worship leader at The Gathering Place in Washington Court House, Ohio, and is founder of the Logos Ladies Ministry. The conference begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and continues with a breakfast at 9 a.m. on Saturday and a program at 10 a.m. No admission will be charged but a love offering will be accepted.     July 4 Cruise In

    The City of Greenville will host an Independence Day Cruise In car show from 3-6 p.m. on July 4 as part of its annual festivities on the Town Common, 105 E. First St. The show is open to all cars. The event is cohosted by Greenville Recreation & Parks, Hastings Ford and the Coastal Plains Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America.     Mid-Atlantic Reptile Expo

    A Mid-Atlantic Reptile Expo is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20 at the Greenville Convention Center, 303 S.W. Greenville Blvd. Cost is $10 and those 12 years and younger are admitted free.

    Woman’s Day service

    Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 2506 Mill St., Winterville, will host a Women’s Day service at 10 a.m. on July 21. The theme is “100 Women in Hats.”

    Powerful Tools

    The Greene County Senior Center, 104 Greenridge Road, Snow Hill, will offer the Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays starting at the center on July 31. The course is for 18 years of age and up. Classes are free. Lunch will be served after each session. Register no later than July 24.
