A Greenville woman who pleaded guilty to more than 27 counts of fraud has been charged again after she failed to show up to her sentencing hearing in March, authorities said.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office said that in February Jacqueline Carrie Barr, 22, of 3914 Sterling Pointe Drive, pleaded guilty in Pitt County Superior Court to 27 counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense. She was accused of withdrawing more than $10,000 from multiple personal bank accounts.

Reports from the time of Barr's initial arrest in 2022 said the withdrawals were completed with forged checks. Detectives obtained copies of more than 10 checks.

Myshyla Jalae Murray and Nyja Lashay Hemby, both 22, also were charged in connection to the fraud. Murray awaits prosecution in Pitt County Superior Court. Hemby was convicted of identity theft/fraud and obtain property by false pretense on Feb. 6.

Barr was directed to return to court in March after a judge allowed her time to attend to "family needs," the sheriff's office said. Barr failed to appear in court for sentencing.

She also disposed of an electronic ankle monitor and fled from deputies, the sheriff's office said.

On June 28, U.S. Marshals located Barr in Greenville. She was served with additional felony warrants for interfering with electronic monitor device, 45 counts violation of pre-trial release conditions, four counts felony probation violation and 15 counts failure to appear.

Barr was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center without bond. She has prior convictions from September of 2021 for obtaining property by false pretense as well as larceny by servant or employee.
